Este domingo se llevó a cabo en el Microsoft Theatre de Los Ángeles los Premios Billboard. El artista canadiense, The Weeknd, fue el gran triunfador, con 10 estatuillas de las 16 nominaciones en las que compitió.
Durante los Billboard Music Awards 2021 el cantante The Weeknd se llevó el máximo premio de la noche a “Mejor Artista del Año”.
En la ceremonia previa, no televisada, el artista canadiense fue el máximo ganador al llevarse los galardones como Top Male Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top R&B Artist y Top R&B Male Artist, así como su disco “Afther Hours” obtuvo el premio Top R&B Album y su canción “Blinding Lights” hizo ganó Top Radio Song y Top R&B Song.
Luego, al dar inicio la gala, fue el primer artista premiado al coronarse como el Top Hot 100 Artist. Luego, con “Blinding Lights” ganó Mejor Canción Hot 100.
El artista de la década fue Drake, quien ha recibido 27 premios Billboard en toda su carrera y ha durado más tiempo en el listado Hot 100 con 431 semanas. El rapero Drake protagonizó un momento entrañable al dedicar y entregar su premio a su hijo, de tres años
